Innovation for Cadbury

Field Packaging - Bradford has created several innovative carton designs to support some of Cadbury's key brands. Bradford has produced a polypropylene carton for Cadbury's leading confectionery brand, Roses. Field's ability as a manufacturer of cartonboard cartons has allowed it to develop the conversion of this special material. The carton, sold in export markets, provides a large surface area for printing as well as product visibility.

Bradford has also produced two new shaped cartons for Cadbury's leading chocolate assortment brand, Milk Tray. These special cartons replace traditional rigid boxes that were previously used for these limited edition packs. The cartons provide the same high quality but, as they can be produced in high volumes, they are more cost effective. The lid and base of the Milk Tray cartons are printed in 4-colours and the packs' designs are further enhanced by foil blocking as well as a high gloss varnish.

Field Packaging Systems developed an innovative machine system that made the production of these cartons possible. This machine system, installed at Field's sites in Bradford and Stuttgart, has the capability to automatically erect and close these complex carton shapes. This special development has allowed Field to offer its customers carton board packs in a variety of styles such as ovals, stars or seasonal shapes such as a heart for Valentines Day or a Christmas tree.
