Award winning labels and cartons

We are delighted to report that Chesapeake won the 'Labelling' category at the recent UK Packaging Awards ceremony as well as being highly commended within the 'Cartonboard Packaging' category. The awards were presented to Chesapeake at a Gala Dinner at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.

The award winning label was for Russian Standard Vodka which is printed in 8-colours with a roller-coat varnish and enhanced with gold foiling to produce a deep, reflective sheen. Strong embossing ensures it provides lasting shelf impact even after the bottling process. The judges commented that the label "works in perfect harmony with the bottle."

Chesapeake's "impressive and distinctive" pack for Glen Moray's Classic Gift Set was runner up in the Cartonboard Packaging category. The pack, based upon Chesapeake's innovative 'soft-box' concept, uses a combination of low calliper cartonboard wrapped around corrugated inner walls. A textured graining effect, foil blocking and embossing provide a tactile finish. The judges were particularly impressed with the pack's innovative side opening which provides product visibility without the use of cellophane and allows the retailer to easily add security tags.
