Setting New Standards
Field Lithoprint has completed its relocation to new premises as part of a £2.8m investment programme. The move within the Hillington Industrial Estate, Glasgow is also supported by new equipment. This includes a state-of-the-art Roland 708 litho printing press as well as other ancillary equipment. The press has the ability to print labels and a range of paper and plastic substrates up to 1mm, which provides greater choice and flexibility.
"The new factory sets new standards for label production and will support our future growth plans." said James Clark, Field Lithoprint's General Manager. "We have already received a number of exciting, new print enquiries including some challenging work to fully utilise all 8 units on our new UV printing press. We have identified a need for a 'local' leader in quality label production and our investment programme demonstrates our commitment to achieving this goal".
The investment programme also includes material handling equipment and the introduction of a new management information system, which will improve order handling and information flow. The design of the new factory has been radically changed to reflect the latest manufacturing flow techniques. The construction of a double door access, as well as the introduction of relative humidity control, ensures optimal paper converting conditions at all times.
